What travel bloggers say

Traveling For Miles· American Eagle CRJ-700ER First Class review (PSP-PHX)
  • At 6ft, he expected to feel squashed and instead rated the 37-inch pitch and 6-inch recline as good as A321 first class legroom, even if the cabin itself feels small and tight
  • Calls it a no-frills seat: a small drink ledge on the armrest, a bi-fold tray table that bounces when typing or in turbulence, plus an AC outlet and USB-A port beside the cushion
  • Warns rollaboards won't fit the overheads — gate agents announce it for half an hour before boarding and bags get tagged for the hold; bins over the single seats are tiny to the point of being useless
  • No seatback screens; Gogo wifi was $10 for the whole flight and free streaming requires downloading the AA app before departure
  • One flight attendant handled first class with a near-immediate pre-departure drink and a second round with Biscoff or peanuts after level-off; on-time push and an early arrival

The Path Less Traveled· Review: American Eagle CRJ-700 Economy
  • PSA-operated economy on DCA–Toronto with 46 seats at 31-inch pitch and 17-inch width in a clean blue-and-grey cabin
  • Lower cushioning is supportive but the slimline backrest has minimal padding — fine for a short hop, potentially uncomfortable on the jet's longer routes
  • Overhead bins are very small; anything larger than a backpack is likely to be gate-checked at no charge, and in-seat power is available
  • Crew was split: the forward attendant greeted warmly while the rear one hardly acknowledged passengers, and he felt the crew had a bad demeanor and didn't want to be there
  • Hot drinks came first after 10,000 feet, then complimentary sodas, juices and water with Biscoff cookies as the only snack; streaming entertainment free, wifi for purchase

ATX Jetsetter· Review: American Eagle CRJ-700 Economy (BTR–DFW)
  • Bulkhead Main Cabin Extra row gave virtually unlimited legroom, though the aisle-side seat gets bumped by passing passengers
  • Main Cabin Extra includes complimentary alcohol — he had a vodka soda with a small bag of pretzels
  • No seatback screens, but AA's streaming entertainment over wifi worked and he used the connection in flight to track his connection
  • Rear lavatory was basic but stayed clean and stocked for the whole flight
  • A broken pushback tug forced a remote stand, stair deplaning, a gate change and boarding just 15 minutes before departure; the captain personally loaded bags at the airstairs to claw back time

JustSomeFlyer· Trip Report: American Airlines (CRJ-700) Domestic First ORD–IND
  • Nine first class seats in a 1-2 layout across three rows, Zodiac Close Comfort II shells roughly 19.5–21 inches wide with 37-inch pitch and 6-inch recline
  • Each seat has a bi-fold tray table stowed in the left armrest and a small cocktail holder, with recent upgrades adding an individual power outlet and USB port
  • Pre-departure beverage was offered on settling in — a welcome surprise given how hit-or-miss PDBs are domestically
  • Within 10 minutes of departure the single cabin attendant took drink orders with a choice of pretzels or Biscoff; his Bloody Mary lasted until descent
  • Tidy operation on a 36-minute scheduled hop from Chicago, arriving at the gate 10 minutes early

Phillip's Loop· Review: American Airlines CRJ-700 (First Class) – Oklahoma City to Dallas
  • Single-seat side of the nine-seat first cabin, with a permanent drink holder in the left armrest he found fine empty but awkward with a drink in it — he ended up just holding his glass
  • Tray table stows in the same armrest and deploys half or full, though he never needed it on the short Oklahoma City–Dallas run
  • Biggest gripes were the missing extras: no individual air nozzles with the cabin set hella cold, and no wifi, no power outlets and no seatback entertainment, which he called depressing
  • Drink orders were taken eight minutes after boarding and arrived about 10 minutes after takeoff; nothing else happened for the rest of the flight, which stayed dim and eerily quiet
  • Pushed back 15 minutes late but landed a few minutes early; he rates the route mainly for Dallas-bound frequency and first class availability, booked at 66,500 miles plus $86 round trip

Flight-Report· Review of American Eagle flight from Washington to Raleigh in Economy · AA5439 · Jun 2024
  • Rated the hour-long DCA–RDU hop an okay flight: seats a bit narrow, but recline and legroom were decent
  • Scored the cabin just 5/10 and catering 0/10 because no onboard service of any kind was offered, while the crew earned 8/10
  • Seatback pocket held the IFE guide and safety card but was missing the air-sickness bag that other rows had
  • Browsed the streaming entertainment and found the movie selection identical to the CRJ-900's; skipped the wifi
  • Lavatory judged not the worst, with limited ceiling height but D.S. & Durga soap stocked
