1. PIREPs is the portmanteau of Pilot Reports or Pilot Report, which are sometimes filed by pilots when they encounter noteworthy conditions such as turbulence and icing. Current PIREPs can be viewed on aviationweather.gov, and these can give you an indication of how smooth or bumpy your flight is likely to be.
