About Afriqiyah Airways

Afriqiyah Airlines has a colorful history as the government-owned national airline of Libya. While the airline was previously headquartered at Tripoli International Airport, it has since diverted its operations to Mitiga International Airport, just 8 miles east of its former hub. At present, Afriqiyah offers flights to 19 destinations, though complications stemming from the country's political crisis in 2011 have caused permanent destinations to be suspended indefinitely. The full-service airline operates a fleet of 13 aircraft, and is partnered with the Arab Air Carriers Organization, expanding their service to several North African and Middle Eastern destinations.
